Where Aklar Security installs camera systems and provides monitoring services on behalf of clients, video footage is collected, transmitted, and stored in accordance with the terms of the applicable service agreement. The following practices apply:

  • Footage is accessible only to authorised Aklar Security personnel and, where contractually agreed, to the client

  • Footage may be disclosed to law enforcement where required by law or court order

  • Retention periods for footage are defined in the individual service agreement

  • Clients are independently responsible for ensuring their deployment of surveillance systems complies with all applicable federal and provincial privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and any applicable provincial privacy laws

Aklar Security's UL listed monitoring station operates under strict data handling protocols in accordance with industry standards.

5. Legal Basis for Processing

We collect and process your personal information on the following bases:
